The All-Star Game pits the best players from both the National and American leagues against each other every summer. It typically marks the halfway point of the season, even though we are slightly passed the 81-game mark.

The Midsummer Classic is preceded by the Futures Game and the Home Run Derby to round of the All-Star events.



The 2024 MLB All-Star Game take place at Globe Life Field, Arlington, TX, starting at 8 p.m. ET.

The American League has dominated the All-Star Game since 1997. Between ‘97 and 2009, they won 12 of the 13 All-Star Games, National League is back in 2012 to claim the All-Star Game, While the AL Dominence started again, they won the title in nine straight All-Star games till 2022.

When the MLB All-Star Game was first conceived back in 1933, it was meant to be a one-time event.

The best players from around the MLB are chosen to make up two teams, an American League team and a National League team. So far, 92 contests have been held of these baseball stars.

The AL has won 48 games and the NL has won 44 games. Two games have ended in ties (1961 and 2002).


A first-time All-Star having a career season for the Red Sox, 27-year-old Jarren Duran was named MVP of the 2024 Midsummer Classic, his two-run home run in the fifth inning breaking a 3-3 tie for an eventual American League win.

- Shohei Ohtani's three-run home run shook Globe Life Field out of a third-inning slumber Tuesday night, but it was Duran's two-run shot in the fifth inning that provided the winning margin in the American League's 5-3 victory in the 94th All-Star Game. 

Cleveland's Emmanuel Clase picked up his second All-Star Game save in three years, having nailed down the win in the AL's 2022 triumph at Dodger Stadium. 

The victory gave the American League a 48-44-2 advantage, and re-established their dominance a year after the National claimed the 2023 game at Seattle to break an 11-year losing streak.
