The 2023 World Lacrosse Men’s Championship in San Diego will open with one of the best rivalries in the sport. The reigning champion United States will play against Canada on June 21 at 7 p.m.

England are set to play rivals Australia in their opening game at the 2023 World Lacrosse Men’s Championship in San Diego, California, USA after World Lacrosse released the full tournament schedule.



The United States and Canada have alternated world championships since 2002 with the U.S. edging Canada 9-8 on Tom Schreiber’s goal with one second remaining to win the gold medal at the 2018 world championship in Netanya, Israel.



From June 21 to July 1, 2023, there will be a fierce battle between 30 teams, spanning over 100 games. Sounds exciting?

Pool A -- US, Canada, England, Australia and a Haudenosaunee team, the top five seeded teams according to the current men’s world rankings.

Pool B -- Japan, Uganda, Wales, France and Denmark.

Pool C -- Israel, Philippines, Czech Republic, Sweden and Puerto Rico.

Pool D -- Germany, New Zealand, Switzerland, Poland and Jamaica.

Pool E -- Scotland, Hong Kong, Italy, Austria and Mexico.
