Martha Stewart has becomes the Oldest Sports Illustrated’s cover model ever at the age of 81, posing for the magazine’s annual swimsuit edition.

Stewart posed in the Dominican Republic for the shoot and appears in a total of ten looks.



One of four cover models for this year's issue, which honours strong women who "live in a world where they feel no limitations, internally or externally," is the television personality and cook. Actress Megan Fox, model Brooks Nader, and musician Kim Petras were the other models.

Ruven Afanador took Stewart's photos in the Dominican Republic, and she was questioned about what her friend and regular working partner Snoop Dogg would think of the cover. She laughed and said: “Snoop is going to just think that it is fantastic.”



What Martha Stewart, 81, thinks about posing for Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Cover model.

“I like that picture,” Stewart said of her cover shot as she revealed it on Monday’s “Today” show.

“When I heard that I was going to be on the cover of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit, I thought, ‘Oh, that’s pretty good, I’m going to be the oldest person I think ever on a cover of Sports Illustrated,’” Stewart said,

adding, “And I don’t think about age very much, but I thought that this is kind of historic.”

“My motto has always been: ‘when you’re through changing, you’re through,’ so I thought, why not be up for this opportunity of a lifetime?” Stewart wrote on Instagram.

“I hope this cover inspires you to challenge yourself to try new things, no matter what stage of life you are in.”
