You no longer need to worry how much it would cost to buy an autographed, game-used Michael Jordan jersey that was signed for Karl Malone. On Wednesday, that same object fetched nearly $3 million at auction.



Malone, who sold off several artefacts from his time with the 1992 Dream Team, organised the auction. Jordan's jersey, which sold for $3,030,000 that night, was the top seller.

As expected, Jordan memorabilia did well. According to Darren Rovell of Action Network, a pair of Air Jordans reportedly sold for $450,000 during the auction.

Malone sold more than $5 million worth of goods overall. A Magic Johnson jersey and Larry Bird's shoes brought in a lot of money during the auction in addition to the Jordan artefacts.



The greatest group of basketball players ever was on the 1992 Dream Team. There were 11 future Hall of Famers on the team, including Charles Barkley and David Robinson, including Jordan, Malone, Johnson, and Bird.

The squad won a gold medal after dominating the 1992 Olympics. The closest game for the 1992 Dream Team was their triumph over Croatia for the gold medal, which they won by a margin of 32 points.
