Maryland baseball shuts out Iowa, 4-0, to capture first-ever Big Ten Tournament title 2023, Scores, Past winners.
Top seed In front of 8,957 spectators on Sunday at Charles Schwab Field Omaha, Maryland upset third-seeded Iowa, 4-0, to end its perfect run through the Big Ten Baseball Tournament.
The 4-0 week by the Terrapins (41-19), who won the Big Ten Tournament for the first time, also earned the conference's automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament. Monday at 12:00 ET, ESPN2 will broadcast the NCAA Selection Show.
Five Terrapin pitchers combined for a five-hitter as Kevin Keister and Nick Lorusso's home runs in the fifth inning were all the offence Maryland would need. The tournament's Most Outstanding Player was selected as Lorusso.
Iowa (42-14) finished the competition with a 3-1 record and four players named to the all-tournament team.
