Lionesses Chloe Kelly hits the winning goalscore, England beat Brazil in a dramatic penalty shootout to win the first-ever Women's Finalissima and extend their unbeaten run to 30 games.

Euro 2022 winners England and Copa America champions Brazil meet in the first Women's Finalissima at Wembley on 6th April.

In front of more than 83,000 spectators at Wembley, Toone's goal in the 23rd minute appeared to have sealed the victory, but Mary Earps' errant save allowed Andressa Alves to score with just minutes remaining, forcing a penalty shootout.

Tamires and Brazil's captain Rafaelle Souza both missed their penalties, along with Toone for England, but Kelly, who scored the game-winning goal for the Lionesses in Euro 2022, repeated the feat by calmly converting the winning one.

When Sarina Wiegman took over, England has gone 30 games without a loss. They also won their first penalty shootout, adding the Finalissima to their quickly growing collection of trophies that already includes the Arnold Clark Cup and the Euro 2022.

The Copa America champions Brazil put the European champions to the test on a momentous night at Wembley Stadium, but Leah Williamson, the captain, was able to capture the title in the end.

A quality, albeit injury-plagued, Brazilian team gave the Lionesses their biggest test of the year, but they still won more medals as their momentum builds up ahead of this summer's World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.

After successfully defending their Arnold Clark Cup title in February, Wiegman's Lionesses, who have consistently displayed mental toughness, rallied to win the shootout 4-2 and earn their second trophy of the year.

That was the ideal test before the World Cup and a welcome reminder that England is not unbeatable, despite moments over the past year when it has seemed that way.
