One of the more underrated sports weekends of the year is Elite 8 weekend.
Four games in total will be played across Saturday and Sunday with Final Four spots on the line.
Also known as the Regional Finals, the Elite 8 round is perhaps the most bittersweet in all of March Madness. The teams still alive have already accomplished so much after winning three tournament games, but the big prize of making it to the Final Four – for the men, it's in the Indianapolis area;.
The remaining teams left to play in the Sweet 16 of the the Men's NCAA Tournament will go head-to-head in hopes of advancing one step closer to making that trip to Lucas Oil Stadium and Indianapolis for the Final Four.
The first team to secure its spot in the Elite Eight was No. 9 Iowa, which came from behind to beat No. 4 seed Nebraska out of the South Region, 77-71. The second team to clinch its spot came from the West Region as No. 2 Purdue defeated No. 11 Texas, 79-77.
No. 2 Connecticut and No. 6 Tennessee joined the Blue Devils and Wolverines with wins on Friday. Half of the Elite Eight field will feature Big Ten teams, while the Big 12 (Arizona), SEC (Tennessee), Big East (UConn) and ACC (Duke) will each have one representative in the Elite Eight.
