Jon Batiste, a native of Metairie, Louisiana, is set to perform 'The Star-Spangled Banner' at Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans.
The multi-talented musician, known for his work in jazz, pop, and R&B, is a 20-time Grammy nominee and five-time winner. Since 2005, he has been the main artist on 17 albums. His 2021 release 'We Are' bagged the Grammy for Album of the Year in 2022.
Batiste is perhaps best recognized as a composer, particularly for co-composing the score for Pixar's Soul in 2020. His most popular song, 'Freedom,' released in 2021, has garnered over 21 million views on his official YouTube channel.
