Super Bowl 2023: MVP Patrick Mahomes leads Chiefs comeback win over Eagles for second NFL title in four years.




For the second time in four years, the Chiefs are Big Game Champions again, And Patrick Mahomes is the Super Bowl MVP once again!


Mahomes gave the Chiefs a boost in Arizona Big Game, the Chiefs overcame a 10-point hole at the half by scoring touchdowns on each of their first three drives, helping Kansas City defeat the Philadelphia Eagles 38-35 to Wins the Super Bowl LVII on Sunday.

With 8 seconds left, Harrison-27-yard Butker's field goal sealed a dramatic shootout between the NFL's best scoring offences.



After completing 21 of 27 passes for 182 yards and three touchdowns, and rushed six times for 44 additional yards, Mahomes was voted the game's MVP.

Andy Reid of the Chiefs became the 14th coach in NFL history to win more than one Super Bowl thanks to the victory, which was his second Super Bowl triumph overall.

For the Chiefs and Mahomes, it was their second Super Bowl victory in four seasons. Mahomes was also awarded Super Bowl LVII's MVP.








  • In doing so, the Chiefs became the second team in NFL history to come back from a double-digit halftime deficit to win the Super Bowl.

  • Kansas City quarterback Patrick Mahomes also became the first player since Kurt Warner in 1999 to win NFL MVP and lead his team to a victory in the Super Bowl.



In the second half, Mahomes was simply outstanding, completing 13 of 15 throws for 93 yards and two touchdowns while also adding a vital 26-yard rush on the drive that would ultimately end with the victory.

Travis Kelce, a tight end, scored an 18-yard touchdown on the Chiefs' opening drive.

Kadarius Toney and Skyy Moore, two wide receivers, scored touchdowns in the second half; Kansas City also scored a touchdown on a fumble return in the early half.


Philadelphia punted on one of its second-half drives and settled for a field goal on another, providing Kansas City with the opportunity it needed to mount a comeback.

Isiah Pacheco ended with 76 yards and a score on 15 carries.



  • Philadelphia Eagles, QB Jalen Hurts was nearly as marvelous as he became just the second player in NFL history to rush for three or more touchdowns in the Super Bowl.



DeVonta Smith had seven catches for 100 yards when the game was over. A.J. Brown caught six passes for 96 yards and a touchdown.

In the fourth quarter, Kadarius Toney caught one of Mahomes' touchdown passes and assisted rookie Skyy Moore in scoring with a 65-yard punt return down to the 5-yard line.

Mahomes led his team to victory at the end of a pivotal drive in overtime, and Harrison Butker kicked a 40-yard field goal with 8 seconds left to give Kansas City the victory by the narrowest of margins.
