When does the 2025 MLB spring training starts?
The first game of 2025 spring training is set to take place on Thursday, Feb. 20, when the Los Angeles Dodgers host the Chicago Cubs to open Cactus League play.
The first Grapefruit League game will take place the next day, Friday, Feb. 21, when the Yankees host the Tampa Bay Rays. That game will be followed up with full slates on Saturday and Sunday. All 30 teams will play both days.

In the Cactus League in Arizona, and the Grapefruit League in Florida, pitchers and catchers report for the 30 MLB clubs on or about Tuesday, Feb. 12, While The other roster players taking the field a few days later on Feb. 19 at the spring training facilities.
When does MLB Spring Training 2025 starts?
The first live action spring training game will be Feb. 22 with an NL West contest when the World Series favorites Los Angeles Dodgers take on the San Diego Padres.
All 30 teams will be in action for the first time on Feb. 24. The New York Yankees face the Detroit Tigers, and the New York Mets will host the St. Louis Cardinals.
When does the 2025 MLB season begin?
Just as it did last year, the MLB regular season will begin with a two-game series in Tokyo. This year's series will be between the Los Angeles Dodgers and Chicago Cubs, scheduled for Tuesday, March 18, and Wednesday, March 19.
The traditional opening day, featuring all 30 MLB teams, is set for Thursday, March 27.
When do position players report for spring training?
Position players are scheduled to report for every Cactus League and Grapefruit League team on or about Sunday, Feb. 18, to their respective spring training facilities. The Diamondbacks' first full-squad workout will be at 9 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 19 at Salt River Fields.
