Joey Logano crowns the NASCAR Cup Series champions 2022 at Phoenix Raceway.
- Dominating throughout the NASCAR Cup Series Championship Race at Phoenix Raceway, Logano sits on first on the pole, won the first stage, led a race-high 187 laps, won the race and claimed his second series championship in four years.

Logano won the race and the Cup Series championship, his second of his career, at Phoenix Raceway on Sunday's 312-mile season finale. Ross Chastain, Christopher Bell, and Chase Elliott, who were also vying for the title, were easily beaten by him.
Surprisingly, Logano led the other three championship drivers on all but one of the green-flag laps on Sunday.
With 33 laps remaining and a restart, Logano shot out of third place to overtake leader Chase Briscoe and take the lead in the race.
On the restart, Chastain was in seventh place and was unable to keep up with Logano, who had the best car for the majority of the afternoon. Although Chastain gained ground in the last few laps, she was unable to overtake Logano.

Logano, 32, became the first Ford driver to win two Cup championships since David Pearson won titles in 1968 and ’69. Logano is the 17th driver to win multiple Cup titles .
It is the third Cup championship for Penske, who won with Brad Keselowski in 2012 and Logano’s first title in 2018.
Logano joined Kyle Busch as the only active drivers with multiple Cup titles.
Over the final miles, Logano and Chastain began to compete for the championship. Bell's slow pit stop caused him to lose ground, and Elliott's car had been damaged earlier in the race.
Roger Penske, the team owner, had a successful year thanks to Logano's championship. For the first time ever, Team Penske won both championships in the same year thanks to Will Power's IndyCar victory.
