England beat Pakistan by five wickets in a thrilling final in Melbourne to win the Men's T20 World Cup and become T20 world champions for the second time in tournament history.
They fell to 45-3 and 84-4 while attempting to chase down 138 in the face of a fervent Pakistan-supporting crowd due to lightning-fast bowling.
Ben Stokes, however, further cemented his place in English cricket lore by scoring 52 runs off of his final over while under extreme pressure at the storied Melbourne Cricket Ground with a massive crowd of 80,462..
Stokes took advantage of a cruel injury to Pakistan's left-armer Shaheen Afridi as the situation tightened and led England to victory with six balls remaining.
England becomes the first team to hold both the men's 20 and 50-over world championships thanks to the victory, which was largely made possible by Sam Curran and Adil Rashid's outstanding bowling performances.
