Namibia, ranked 14th in the Cricket world, shocked Current Asia Cup champions Sri Lanka to win by 55 runs as the Men's T20 World Cup started in dramatic fashion.
Sri Lanka won the toss and chose to field against Namibia in the first qualifying round match.
Namibia downs to 35-3 and 93-6 before Jan Frylinck smashed (44 off 28 balls) and JJ Smit (31 not out off 16) hit 70 off the final 37 balls to haul them to an above-par 163-7..
Pramod Madhushan got two wickets for Sri Lanka, while Mahesh Theekshana, Dushmantha Chameera, Chamika Karunaratne, and Vinandu Hasaranga each took one.
Namibia's only other win over a Test nation was against Ireland in 2021.
In reply, Sri Lanka, who are eighth in the world, were bowled out for 108.
Namibian spinners demolished the Sri Lankan batting line in Australia, while Sri Lankan skipper Dasan Shanka scored 29 runs and Bhanuka Rajapaksha scored 20 runs.
David Wiza, Bernard Shultz, Ben Shakongo, and John Frylink of Namibia each grabbed two wickets, while JJ Summit dismissed one player.
