Sri Lanka cruised to a nine-wicket victory over Ireland in their Super 12s opener at the T20 World Cup in Hobart.
The target of 129 runs for Sri Lanka was reached in the 15th over thanks to an unbroken 68-run knock by opener Kaushal Mendis.
Ireland's captain called for Sri Lanka to field after winning the toss during their match in Hobart, Australia.
Ireland's batting lineup appeared hampered right away as the side scored 128 runs when batting first for the loss of 8 wickets.
In addition to Paul Stirling's 34-run innings, Harry Tector of Ireland stood out by scoring 45 runs. Mahesh Thakshana and Vinandu Hasaranga each took two wickets for Sri Lanka, and Bayanura Fernando, Lahiro Kumara, Chamika Karuna Ratne, and Dhanan Jaya Di Silva each took one.
