T20 WC2022: Taskin powers Bangladesh claims win over Netherlands

T20 World Cup 2022: Bangladesh beat Netherlands won by 9 runs in Super 12, scorecard.




Colin Ackermann fought with the bat after a thunderous strike by Taskin Ahmad with bowl in the ground leads Bangladesh to a nine-run victory over the Netherlands in their Super 12s opener in the Men's T20 World Cup 2022.



The Netherlands won the toss and invited Bangladesh to bat first, NETH vs BAN match was played in Hobart.

For Bangladesh, Najamul Hasan and Soumya Sarkar began the inning by scoring 25 and 14 runs, respectively, to give their team a 43-run lead. Shakibul Hasan returned to the pavilion with 7 runs and Litan Das scored 9.



Afif Hussain, who made 38 runs as the highlight, led Bangladesh's 144 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. The Netherlands' van-Meekren and de-Leede both dismissed two players.

The Netherlands squad was bowled out for 135 runs while attempting to chase down the 145-run goal set by Bangladesh.

Colin Ackerman the Star, hitting his first T20I half-century, as he scored 62 runs for the Netherlands, and Paul van Meekren added 24 runs to his stellar performance.


Taksin Ahmed and Hasan Mehmood both dismissed four players for Bangladesh, while Hasan Mehmood dismissed two players.

The victory over Dutch team was the Bangladesh's first at the Super 12 stage of any men's T20 World Cup.
