Sri Lanka crowned Asian Netball Champions first time since 2014

Netball: Sri Lanka beat Singapore 63-53 to wins the Asian Championship final title since 2014.






  • ANC 2022: Sri Lanka defeated Singapore 63 – 53 at the finals to becomes the six-time Asian Netball Champions.

  • ANC 2022: Singapore were forced to settle for second at the Asian Netball Championship for a second straight edition after falling to Sri Lanka.



After losing to Sri Lanka, Singapore was forced to finish in second place at the Asian Netball Championship for a second consecutive year.

Three-time champions Singapore appeared poised to end their eight-year trophy drought in a rematch of the 2018 final as they came out fire from the get-go.

However, the defending champions Sri Lanka came back to defeat Singapore 14-11 in the following period, but the home team held on to win 30-27 at the half.

Both teams played their best in the tight fourth quarter, with Sri Lanka's shooters scoring 17 goals to Singapore's 15. However, Singapore was unable to close the margin as Sri Lanka won 63-53 to claim their sixth Asian Championship crown.



Both teams ( Sri Lanka and Singapore) have qualified for the 2023 Netball World Cup in Cape Town, South Africa.


  • For the third place Malaysia beats Hong Kong 54-42 in the play-off. The Philippines won the Plate division while India won the lowest-tier Bowl title.
