Las Vegas Aces win First-Ever WNBA title, Chelsea Gray named MVP

WNBA Finals 2022! Las Vegas beats Connecticut Sun 78-71 to win first WNBA championship title





Now, Las Vegas had a first-ever professional sports champions — Aces WNBA Trophy .


  • Chelsea Gray scored 20 points to lead the Las Vegas Aces to their first WNBA title, and the city’s first pro title, in a 78-71 road win over the Connecticut Sun in Game 4 with 3-1 series captured.



The 2022 WNBA MVP, A'ja Wilson, ended with 11 points and 14 rebounds. Alyssa Thomas of Connecticut notched her second consecutive triple-double (11 points, 11 assists, and 10 rebounds), but the Sun couldn't capitalise.



Chelsea Gray, who shot 9 of 13 from the field and averaged 18.3 points per game throughout the series, was awarded Finals MVP.


  • For Vegas, Riquna Williams scored 17 points, Kelsey Plum scored 16, Jackie Young scored 13, and Wilson scored 11 points in addition to her 14 rebounds.

  • Connecticut was led by Courtney Williams' 17 points, followed by Jonquel Jones' 13 points, DeWanna Bonner's 12, and


With less than a minute left, Riquna Williams' 3-pointer gave the Aces the lead again, and Gray's step-back jumper increased it to 75-71. After then, A'ja Wilson intercepted a pass, and Plum made a close-range shot to seal the victory.
