Las Vegas tops Seattle to reach WNBA Finals, Sue Bird's career ends

Las Vegas Aces beats Seattle Storm in Semi-finals to advance to 2022 WNBA Finals as Sue Bird's career comes to an end.

  • Chelsea Gray was simply too outstanding, and Tuesday night's 97-92 victory over the Seattle Storm in Game 4 of their semifinal series saw the Las Vegas Aces advance to the WNBA Finals.



Consequently, Bird's remarkable career came to an end. It was followed by crowd appreciation, tears, and one final exit from the court in the same place where Bird's career began more than 20 years earlier.


It will be the third Finals appearance in franchise history for Las Vegas. The Aces lost to Seattle in 2020 in the WNBA bubble played in Florida, and the franchise reached the Finals in 2008 while still in San Antonio, losing to Detroit.


The best-of-five series was won by the Aces 3-1, with all of the games being dramatic, high-pressure affairs with plenty of exceptional shot-making. Gray scored 15 of her 31 points in the fourth quarter.



The Aces ultimately scored more points, especially Gray, who made five of his final six baskets and contributed 12 of the team's final 20 points.


What's Next for Las Vegas Aces.?


Las Vegas will host either Connecticut Sun in Game 1 of the WNBA Finals on Sunday.
