Asia Cup 2022: Afghanistan beat Bangladesh, win by 7 wickets to qualify for Super Four stage






  • Afghanistan advanced to the Super Four stage of the Asia Cup T20 event by defeating Bangladesh by 7 wickets in Group B thanks to Najeebullah Zadran's smokey batting.



Najeebullah Zadran played an undefeated innings of 43 runs off 17 balls with the help of 6 sixes as Afghanistan reached Bangladesh's target of 128 runs in the 19th over with the loss of 3 wickets.



When Bangladesh captain Shakib Al Hasan won the toss for the game at Sharjah Cricket Stadium, he elected to bat first.

Mosaddek Hussain scored an unbroken 48 runs as Bangladesh achieved 127 runs in the allotted 20 overs while losing 7 wickets.

The Afghan spinners did not allow the Bangladeshi batters to freeze, and 5 players left the field for a total score of 53, putting the Bangladeshi squad in peril right away.

Mosaddek Hussain, a Bangladeshi batsman, played sensibly while batting and raised the team's total to 127 runs.

For Afghanistan, Rashid Khan and Mujeeb-ur Rehman each grabbed three wickets.

Ibrahim played an innings of 42 runs off 41 balls while Najeeb scored 43 runs off 17 balls with the help of 6 sixes.

Shakib Al Hasan, Mosaddek and Saifuddin took one wicket each for Bangladesh.



  • Afghanistan is the first team to reach the Super-Four stage of Asia Cup 2022.



Earlier in Asia Cup 2022, Afghanistan easily defeated Sri Lanka by 8 wickets in their first match.
