Italy beats Poland home soil to wins the FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship 2022 title..

The 20th edition of Men's world championships take place in Poland and Slovenia from 26 August to 11 September, with 24 teams taking part in the tournament.

Italy won the FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship Poland Slovenia 2022 title on Sunday, defeating co-hosts and two-time defending champions Poland 3-1.

After dropping the first set 25-22, the European champions Italy came from behind with a vengeance.

The Italians responded magnificently by storming back to win three consecutive sets (25-21, 25-18, and 25-20).

Simone Giannelli from Italy was elected the MVP of the tournament, becoming the first setter to win the award since Vyacheslav Zaytsev in 1982.

Brazil defeated co-hosts Slovenia for third place - Bronze Medal, winning 3-1 (25-18, 25-18, 22-25, 25-18).

Italy’s 24-year wait for their fourth world title came to an end on Sunday, as the Italians silenced a packed Spodek Arena in Katowice and triumphed at the FIVB Volleyball Men’s World Championship 2022 by downing defending champions Poland in the gold medal match of the 20th edition of the tournament.

Co-host Poland are the two-time reigning champions, having won in Katowice in 2014 and Turin, Italy, in 2018.

History repeated itself in 2018, World Best Volleyball team & reigning champions Poland shocked Brazil in straight sets, won the 2018 Volleyball Men’s World Championship held in Italy and Bulgaria.
