British Open record prize money for 2026 championship

The Prize pool of this year's British Open Championship will collect a record $3.1 million winner share from overall 17m prize money, the R&A announced.

It will be the highest amount in the tournament's history, with an 18% increase from 2022, which was won by Australian Cameron Smith.


Last Year winner share for American Scottie Scheffler of The British Open Champion received a record first prize of £3 million share while the total prize fund at Royal GC has also increased £17million.
