USFL Playoffs 2022 scores: Philadelphia Stars defeats New Jersey Generals, advance to Inaugural USFL title game
- The Philadelphia Stars advance to the Championship after gaining back their early lead against the New Jersey Generals, with Amani Dennis intercepting the Generals' pass late in the fourth quarter to seal their win.
The Philadelphia Stars, who won the league championship in two of the USFL's three seasons, were the top team in the league's inaugural season. The Stars may now also win the USFL 2.0 championship.
Philadelphia defeated the New Jersey Generals 19–14 to advance to the USFL championship game the following week.
By shocking a Generals club that had only lost one game all year and had already defeated Philadelphia twice, the Stars punched their ticket to the championship game.
The Generals took the lead with little under 11 minutes left after the Studs had a 10-0 halftime lead thanks to New Jersey stars Darius Victor and KaVontae Turpin.
Philadelphia answered with a field goal, two interceptions, and Maurice Alexander's 88-yard punt return for the game-winning touchdown.
