Los Angeles comeback 24 PTS epic meltdown, knocks out Tampa Bay

NFL playoffs 2022: Los Angeles Rams beats Tampa Bay Buccaneers 30-27 in Divisional Round game, Stats.

The epic comeback was not completed, after all. And no repeat crown.

If this is it for Tom Brady, what a downer.

Brady and the defending Super Bowl champions were clipped by the Los Angeles Rams, 30-27, in an NFC divisional playoff result that was almost too wild to believe at Raymond James Stadium..

The Rams, with new quarterback Matthew Stafford living up to the promise envisioned,

With Todd Bowles' dialed-up blitz bearing down on him, Stafford found his favorite target, Cooper Kupp, with a 44-yard strike over the middle that set up the Rams with just enough time for a spike and a game-winning field goal.

Not only did Brady leave with a big L, Tom drew the first unsportsmanlike conduct penalty of his 22-year career after yelling at referee Shawn Hochuli during a heated, second-quarter exchange after he absorbed a hit from Von Miller.

Safety Mike Edwards misplayed his deep-half assignment in Cover 2, allowing Stafford to find a wide-open Kupp for a 70-yard touchdown in a first half filled with a flurry of Rams points.

The absence of Tristan Wirfs was noticeable, allowing the Rams to get early and persistent pressure, leading to a 30-of-54 passing day from Tom Brady that included three sacks.

What's next for Los Angeles Rams and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The Rams advance to the NFC Championship Game to face the San Francisco 49ers for the third time this season, with a chance to punch their ticket to Super Bowl LVI on their own field at SoFi Stadium.
