The 33-year-old was discharged by the Royal Challengers of Bangalore after the IPL 2020 season.

Earlier, Yuvraj Singh was the most expensive-buy in auction history ever since he was acquired for Rs 16 crore by Delhi Daredevils in IPL 2015. The former India all-rounder is Pat Cummins (Rs 15.5 crore $2.17M, 2020) and Ben Stokes (14.5 crore $2.07M, 2017).

Morris played 70 IPL matches for 80 wickets with an economy of 7.81, except for 551 wickets with a strike rate of more than 157.

On the other side, IPL's perennial under-performer Glenn Maxwell once again won big money at the auction with Royal Challengers Bangalore bidding Rs 14.25 crore, $1.95M to secure his services.
