In a dramatic finish, longshot Mirabad stormed to victory after favorite Alnilam dramatically pulled up before the final fence. Mirabad took command over the last obstacle and showed tremendous stamina, pulling away powerfully in the closing stages to secure a clear win over Salvator Mundi.
The 50/1 outsider produced one of the biggest shocks of the day, delivering a thrilling result for those who backed him at long odds. After a steady start to the race, Mirabad came alive in the straight and finished with real authority, leaving his rivals behind in impressive fashion.
Alnilam, who had been heavily fancied, was pulled up before the final fence, while Salvator Mundi stayed on for second but had no answer for Mirabad’s strong finishing kick.

RACE 6: I Am Maximus wins the National!
He becomes the first horse to regain the National since Red Rum!
Jordans and Ben Jones ran on gamely but were not able to hold on.
Punter's £100,000 gamble comes off!
Popular bookie Johnny Dineen revealed on ITV he had someone stake £100,000 on I Am Maximus at 8-1.
The horse, who is trained by Willie Mullins and ridden by Paul Townend, won the punter a staggering £800,000 profit.

RACE 7: Forthfactor wins the Weatherby's NH Flat
Forthfactor's victory gave the Champion Trainer elect his fourth win of the day.
The winners came from three different jockeys.
Tristan Durrell rode 50-1 shot Mirabad to glory in the first race of the day over 1m7f.
Bossman Jack then justified favouritism under a ride by Dan's brother Harry Skelton in the 1:55 Grade 1 over 2m4f.
Mr Hope Street won by over five lengths to give Harry a quickfire double in the 2:30 race over 3m.
And Forthfactor's win under Heidi Palin in the last completed the Skelton treble.
