The 2018-19 PGA Tour is the 104th season of the PGA Tour and the 52nd since separating from the PGA of America. The season began on October 1, 2018, & Will end with the Tour Championship on 25th August 2019.
The Tour announced the schedule for the 2018-19 season of 46 tournament events including 3 FedExCup playoffs events in August, two events less from the 2017-18 season.
PGA Tour 2018-19: Significant Revamped, Highlights, How it Works?
The FedExCup Playoffs will highlight three events, rather than four: THE NORTHERN TRUST, August 5-11 (125-player field); the BMW Championship, August 12-18 (70 players); and the TOUR Championship August 19-25 (30 players). TPC Boston will proceed as a Playoffs site each other year, turning with the New York City zone as host of THE NORTHERN TRUST beginning in 2020.
·NEW EVENTS ADDED: As earlier reported, two new events have been included, however now the dates have been affirmed: the Rocket Mortgage Classic June 24-30, the primary PGA TOUR competition to be held in the city of Detroit; and the 3M Open at TPC Twin Cities July 1-7, which turns as the First PGA TOUR Champions event to change into the PGA TOUR.
· Per a week's ago reported, the RBC Canadian Open is moving from its Existing spot in late July to June 3-9, driving into the U.S. Open. Hamilton Golf and Country Club in Hamilton, Ontario, will have the occasion out of the blue since 2012.
· The Puerto Rico Open comes back to the calendar following its wiping out this year because of the big destruction of Hurricane Maria. Puerto Rico is opened for February 18-24, the same week from the World Golf Championships-Mexico Championship.
· As earlier reported, THE PLAYERS Championship moves from May to March (11-17) and the PGA Championship moves from August to May (13-19).
· In a previous report: the last World Golf Championships tournament of the PGA season, are now set in Akron, Ohio, will be held July 22-28 at TPC Southwind in Memphis as the World Golf Championships-FedEx St. Jude Invitational (supplanting the FedEx St. Jude Classic).
OOOUUUTTT: The Houston Open and A Military Tribute at The Greenbrier are moving to the fall and will be played next as part of the 2019-20 PGA Tour Schedule.
The schedule continues in the first week of January in Hawaii with the Aloha State two-step — the Sentry Tournament of Champions Jan. 3-6 and the Sony Open in Hawaii Jan. 10-13.
The season starts the week after the 2018 Ryder Cup in France. The Safeway Open in Napa, California, is Oct. 4-7 and commences a seven-week, eight-events fall extend before the Tour takes a break in late November.
