The World Rugby Player of the Year is an annual award by World Rugby at the World Rugby Awards.
It was called the IRB International Player of the Year, and it is commonly known as the IRB World Player of the Year.
From 2007 until 2014, it was the IRB Player of the Year.
Since 2014, following the International Rugby Board becoming World Rugby, the award has been titled the World Rugby Player of the Year.
The first World Rugby Player of the Year award was presented in London in 2001. The winner receives a trophy at an annual awards ceremony.
2023 World Rugby Men's 15s Player of the Year winner is Ardie Savea (New Zealand) while the World Rugby Women’s 15s Player of the Year 2022 winner is New Zealand Player Ruahei Demant.
