Currently, there are 11 weight divisions in UFC.

The first UFC event was organized in 1993 at the McNichols Sports Arena in Denver, Colorado.



Francis Ngannou has one of the most remarkable journeys to the UFC. Growing up in Cameroon. He did not even start training in MMA until he was 25 years old. Now, he is the heavyweight champion of the world.



Francis Ngannou became the 17th Undisputed UFC World Heavyweight Champion by defeating Stipe Miocic at UFC 260 on 27 March 2021. This win also saw him zoom into #4 position in pound for pound ranking.


In August, the company had Derrick Lewis and Ciryl Gane fight for an interim title. Gane showed the world that he is ready for the big stage, putting on an incredible performance against Lewis. Gane and Ngannou are now set to face off for the undisputed UFC heavyweight championship.


Glover Teixeira defeated Jan Blanchowicz to become the Light Heavyweight Champion. He is the second oldest UFC Champion overall.

 Conor McGregor was the first UFC fighter to hold Championship title belts in two different weight divisions at the same time by becoming the Lightweight Champion at UFC 205 in New York City. He was the Featherweight Champion before he became the Lightweight Champion.

 Amanda Nunes became the first woman to hold two women’s division title in UFC when she defeated Chris Cyborg for the Featherweight title at UFC 232 via TKO in 51 seconds.

 Her first Featherweight title defense came against Felicia Spencer at UFC 250 before she defended it against Megan Anderson at UFC 259. 

With this win, she became first fighter in UFC history to successfully defend two title while simultanousely holding them. Nunes is currently #1 ranked fighter in women’s Pound for Pound rankings.
