2027 FIVB Women’s Volleyball World Cup Schedule, Dates, Venues & Qualified Teams



The 2027 FIVB Women’s Volleyball World Cup (formerly known as the World Championship) is set to take place from August 20 to September 5, 2027. The tournament will be jointly hosted by the United States and Canada, marking the first time the event is held in North America since 1974 and only the second co-hosted edition in history.

Matches: 64 games over 17 days  

Format: Preliminary pool phase followed by knockout rounds (Round of 16, quarterfinals, semifinals and final)


Confirmed Venues for the 2027 Women’s World Cup


The final rounds will be staged at the Honda Center and OCVIBE in Anaheim, California. The Honda Center (capacity 18,336) will serve as a test event for the volleyball competition at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.  Anaheim is scheduled to host preliminary-round matches, Round of 16 games, the semifinals and the final.

Orlando is planned to host preliminary matches and knockout games up to the quarterfinals. Four additional host cities (two in the United States and two in Canada) will stage the pool phase and Round of 16 — these cities are expected to be confirmed in the coming months.



Qualified Teams for the 2027 FIVB Women’s Volleyball World Cup


Eighteen teams have already secured their places: 

Automatic Qualifiers  Italy (defending champions – 2025 World Championship winners)  

Canada (co-host)  

United States (co-host)


Continental Qualifiers 


NORCECA: Cuba, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico  

AVC: Thailand, China, Japan  

CAVB: Egypt, Kenya, Cameroon  

CEV: Serbia, Poland, Türkiye  

CSV: Brazil, Argentina, Colombia


The remaining 14 berths will be awarded based on the FIVB Women’s World Ranking to teams that have not yet qualified.


Tournament Format and Structure

The expanded 32-team competition features a preliminary pool phase followed by a single-elimination knockout stage. Teams will play a maximum of seven matches, creating a more compact 17-day schedule compared to previous longer formats. The event will also serve as a key pathway toward Olympic qualification for Los Angeles 2028.

Additional host cities, the full group draw, detailed match schedule and ticketing information are expected to be announced in the lead-up to the tournament. Fans can look forward to world-class volleyball across North America in the summer of 2027.
