Why the China Open 2026 Matters

The China Open is one of the major tournaments during the Asian swing of the tennis calendar.

The WTA event carries WTA 1000 status, while the men's competition is an ATP 500 tournament. That gives players valuable ranking points and prize money as the season moves toward its final stages.

With Rybakina beginning her reign at No. 1 and Sinner leading the men's field, the 2026 China Open is set to attract significant attention in Beijing.
