Michael Brennan Wins Wyndham Championship, Claims Spot in FedEx Cup Playoffs
Michael Brennan secured his second career PGA Tour victory and a place in the FedEx Cup Playoffs with a dominant final-round performance at the Wyndham Championship on Sunday.Brennan finished at 22-under after a 6-under 64, winning by three strokes over Beau Hossler. He began the day tied with Hossler at 16-under but pulled away with five straight birdies on holes 4 through 8. Hossler briefly led after an eagle on the par-5 fifth but stumbled with two bogeys and closed with a 3-under 67.
The victory moved Brennan up 58 spots to 47th in the FedEx Cup standings, earning him a spot in the playoffs and a place in the 2027 Masters. It marked his first win since the 2025 Bank of Utah Championship.Ben James shot a final-round low 61 to finish third at 18-under.
Kevin Yu placed fourth at 16-under, while Harry Hall and Tom Kim tied for fifth at 15-under.Sedgefield Country Club is just 25 miles from Wake Forest, where Brennan won eight times as a collegian. He joins a list of Wake Forest winners at the event that includes Cameron Young (2025), Webb Simpson (2011), Scott Hoch (2001) and Lanny Wadkins (1983).

FedEx Cup Bubble
Rookie Jackson Koivun claimed the final playoff spot in 70th place. He shot a 1-over 71 to finish 8-under and tied for 29th. After dropping to 71st with a bogey on the first hole, he recovered and held his position.Koivun reached the playoffs in just six events this season, matching Tiger Woods’ mark from 2008 (when 125 players qualified). The former Auburn standout has three top-25 finishes and a win at the 3M Open.Matti Schmid finished 69th and Ricky Castillo placed 68th to also qualify for the playoffs.
