2027 NHL All-Star Game Schedule Announced: USA, Canada Headline New Format
The NHL has officially unveiled the schedule and format for its reimagined 2027 All-Star Game, which will take place on February 6, 2027, at UBS Arena in Long Island, New York.
After pausing the traditional event in favor of international competitions, the league is bringing back All-Star Weekend with a fresh global twist. Instead of the familiar divisional format, fans will see five national teams compete in a fast-paced three-on-three round-robin tournament featuring some of the NHL's biggest stars.
Five-Team International Tournament
The tournament will feature teams representing the United States, Canada, Sweden, Finland, and a Rest of the World squad made up of players from nations not represented by the other four teams.
Each team will consist of 11 players, including nine skaters and two goaltenders. The competition will be played in a round-robin format, with every team facing each of the other four teams in five-minute games.
Teams will earn two points for a win, one point for a tie, and zero points for a loss. The top two teams in the standings will advance to the championship final, where a $2 million prize will be on the line.

New Era for NHL All-Star Weekend
The redesigned event reflects the NHL's growing emphasis on international competition. League officials have confirmed that the All-Star Game will now be held every other year, alternating with major international tournaments.
The 2028 World Cup of Hockey is already scheduled, while NHL players are also expected to participate in the 2030 Winter Olympics.
In addition to the international All-Star tournament, the weekend will include a revamped Skills Competition featuring 10 NHL players aged 25 or younger competing for a $1 million grand prize.
With national pride, elite talent, and significant prize money at stake, the 2027 NHL All-Star Game promises to deliver one of the most exciting and unique showcase events in league history.
