2027 PGA Tour Winter Schedule Takes Shape, Doral and Florida Still Unclear

PGA Tour 2027 Winter Schedule Takes Shape: Florida Remains the Big Mystery

The PGA Tour’s 2027 schedule is beginning to resemble the current season, with several key events already locking in their dates — but the biggest question mark remains the state of Florida. The Zurich Classic of  New Orleans became the latest tournament to announce its 2027 dates, falling in line with this year’s calendar. The American Express in La Quinta, California, will once again be held in the third full week of January.

The AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am is set for Feb. 4-7, and the WM Phoenix Open will be played Feb. 11-14, the week of the Super Bowl. The Masters Tournament is scheduled for April 8-11, and as usual, it will be followed by the RBC Heritage and the Zurich Classic.

Florida Schedule Still Unclear

While most of the early-season puzzle is coming together, the Florida swing remains a mystery — with one major exception. The Players Championship is locked in for March 11-14 at TPC Sawgrass.Adding to the intrigue is the return of Doral (Blue Monster), which hosted the Cadillac Championship this year. However, the event drew a disappointing crowd and lacked the buzz of its former glory.

Five of the top 15 players in the world were absent, and the tournament faced tough competition from Formula 1’s Miami Grand Prix the same weekend. The PGA Tour last visited Doral in 2016 before LIV Golf occupied the venue for several years. PGA Tour CEO Brian Rolapp has expressed a desire to restore Doral as a PGA Tour tradition, but its current early-May date has drawn criticism for lacking tradition and strong fields.Florida currently hosts four events:

Cognizant Classic (PGA National)

Arnold Palmer Invitational (Bay Hill)

The Players Championship

Valspar Championship (Innisbrook)

Whether there is room for a fifth event at Doral — and where it would fit — remains one of the biggest scheduling challenges for the PGA Tour.Significant changes to the overall schedule are now more likely to be delayed until 2028.

Other Notes from the Week

Nelly Korda continues to dominate the conversation. Fresh off back-to-back victories and reclaiming the world No. 1 ranking, the American star appeared on “The Pat McAfee Show” and credited her smooth swing to a childhood tempo drill from her father, tennis Grand Slam champion Petr Korda, who used the simple cue “Coca-Cola.”

Equipment News

Justin Rose and Ian Poulter have both started using McLaren Golf irons. Rose, the first global ambassador for the brand tied to the famous Formula 1 team, made the bold switch but struggled in his first event with the new clubs. Brooks Koepka, meanwhile, became a free agent again after mutually ending his partnership with Srixon/Cleveland Golf.

LIV Golf

LIV Golf’s Virginia event this week offers a crucial opportunity for players to earn spots in the U.S. Open. Joaquin Niemann has already qualified, while another spot is available based on the LIV standings.
