Hockey Canada Announces 23-Player Roster for 2026 IIHF World Championship





Hockey Canada has officially released its 23-player roster for the 2026 IIHF World Championship, set to take place from May 15 to 31 in Zürich and Fribourg, Switzerland.The roster features a strong mix of NHL veterans, rising stars, and players with significant international experience as Canada aims for gold at the tournament.

Leadership and Selection Committee

The roster was selected by a management group including Brad Treliving and Jason Spezza, with support from Kyle Dubas and Scott Salmond. NHL executives Gregory Campbell and Andrew Cogliano also assisted, while Misha Donskov will serve as head coach.

Canada’s Pre-Tournament Schedule

Training begins Friday in Paris at Accor Arena  

Exhibition games: vs. France (May 10) and vs. Hungary (May 13)


2026 IIHF World Championship Schedule

Canada opens the tournament against Sweden on May 15. The preliminary round also includes matchups against Italy, Denmark, Norway, Slovenia, Slovakia, and Czechia. Medal games will be played on May 31.
