2026 NBA Conference Semifinals Predictions: How Every Second-Round Series Will Play Out
The NBA Conference Semifinals are officially underway. Here’s my breakdown and bold predictions for all four series.
Knicks vs 76ers 2026: New York Knicks vs Philadelphia 76ers Prediction
Philly is playing with serious momentum and Joel Embiid looks dominant since returning from his appendectomy. He can give Karl-Anthony Towns major problems. Still, New York’s perimeter defense (OG Anunoby, Josh Hart, and Mikal Bridges) is elite and tough to crack. This should be a long, physical series.
Prediction: Knicks in 7
Pistons vs Cavaliers NBA Playoff Prediction
Both teams needed seven games to advance, so fatigue could be a factor. Cade Cunningham and Jalen Duren give Detroit star power, but they struggled when their shooting went cold. Cleveland needs Donovan Mitchell to go off to have a chance. Home court and youthful energy should carry the Pistons.
Prediction: Pistons in 6
Spurs vs Timberwolves NBA Playoff Prediction
This is the toughest series to call. Minnesota has strong defense and playoff experience, but Anthony Edwards’ left knee bone bruise is a major concern. If Ant misses significant time, it changes everything. Victor Wembanyama is ascending fast, and San Antonio’s speed could overwhelm Minnesota.
Prediction: Spurs in 6
Oklahoma City Thunder vs Los Angeles Lakers NBA Playoff Prediction
The Thunder look like the most complete team left. They swept their first-round series, play aggressive defense, and have incredible depth. The Lakers battled without Luka Dončić, with LeBron James carrying a huge load. That formula will be extremely difficult against this young, explosive OKC squad.
Prediction: Thunder in 52026 NBA Playoffs Outlook
The East should deliver two hard-fought, physical series, while the West features one potential mismatch and one big wildcard. Injuries — especially Edwards and Dončić — will likely decide how these series actually unfold
