Team Canada 2026 World Baseball Classic Roster: Full Squad, Schedule

Team Canada 2026 World Baseball Classic Roster: Full Squad, Schedule.

Canada enters the 2026 World Baseball Classic looking to build on a solid 2023 performance (fourth in Pool C) and finally advance past the first round for the first time in tournament history. The team has a history of upsets—like the famous 2006 win over Team USA—but has struggled with consistency.

This roster features strong MLB talent and experience, with 21 players having current or prior Major League exposure. Offense is the strength, anchored by power hitters and a mix of veterans and emerging stars.

Top Players

Josh Naylor (1B, Seattle Mariners): A 2024 MLB All-Star who signed a five-year, $92.5 million deal this offseason; hit .295/.353/.462 with 20 HR and 92 RBI in 2025.

Tyler O’Neill (OF, Baltimore Orioles): Two-time Gold Glove winner hoping to rebound from injuries; previously hit 31 HR in 2024 with the Red Sox.

Denzel Clarke (OF, Oakland Athletics): Elite defender considered one of baseball's best defensive outfielders.

Jameson Taillon (RHP, Chicago Cubs): The team's most experienced and reliable starter, returning after representing Canada in 2013.

Michael Soroka (RHP, Arizona Diamondbacks) and Cal Quantrill (RHP): Add veteran starting depth.

Best Prospects / Young Talent

Owen Caissie (OF, Miami Marlins): A top prospect (Miami's No. 4 / MLB No. 43 per Baseball America); plus-plus raw power and athleticism; recently traded to the Marlins and debuted in MLB in 2025.

Tyler Black (UTL, Milwaukee Brewers): Former Top 100 prospect whose stock cooled after a 2025 hamate injury and Triple-A struggles, but still brings upside.

Adam Macko (LHP, Toronto Blue Jays): A promising young arm making his international debut.
