El Clasico Live Updates, highlights, How to watch El Clasico Barcelona vs Real Madrid Today: Kick-off Time, TV channel, live streaming online

Real Madrid and Barcelona clash in El Clasico on Sunday, Oct. 26, at the Santiago Bernabéu.

Barcelona will be led by assistant coach Marcus Song*, as manager *Hansi Flick serves a suspension after his red card last week. Song said it’s “an honor” to lead the team. Barça have dominated recent meetings, winning the last four against Madrid across all competitions.

Under Xabi Alonso, Real Madrid have been outstanding this season — 11 wins in 12 games, their only loss coming to Atletico Madrid. They’ve won their last four matches, including a 1–0 victory over Juventus and another 1–0 win against Getafe. Madrid currently top La Liga with *24 points*, two ahead of Barcelona.

However, Madrid haven’t beaten Barça in their last four encounters, and Alonso faces his biggest challenge yet — his first *El Clasico*, where both his reputation and Madrid’s momentum are on the line.

What’s next for Real Madrid and Barcelona?

Real Madrid’s next game is on Saturday at home against Valencia before a Champions League away to Liverpool three days later.

Barcelona, on the other hand, host Elche on Sunday before playing away to Club Brugge in the Champions League three days later.

‘The match has a special flavour’

Manager Xabi Alonso is determined to use the first Clasico of the season as an opportunity for Real Madrid to reassert their authority in high-stakes matches — a quality questioned after heavy defeats to Paris Saint-Germain in the Club World Cup semifinals and Atletico Madrid earlier in La Liga.

Barcelona, meanwhile, dealt further blows last season, defeating Real four times across three competitions, including a 4-0 drubbing at the Bernabéu and a 5-2 win in the Super Cup final.

“The match has a special flavour and is the most important one right now,” Alonso said when asked about the pressure to perform. “There will be similar situations, but it is completely different [from last season]. We want to maximise our strengths.

“An El Clasico is special, the first one in this project. We need the stadium to have the energy of big matches, to push us forward. Looking ahead to tomorrow, we believe we are in good shape, both mentally and in terms of our football.”

Alonso sidesteps Yamal’s ‘cheating’ jibe amid rising El Clasico tensions

Real Madrid boss Xabi Alonso refused to be drawn into controversy after Barcelona winger Lamine Yamal claimed in a televised interview on Friday that Madrid “cheat” and “complain.”

Alonso kept his focus firmly on Sunday’s El Clasico at the Bernabéu, stressing the importance of the clash for his league-leading side, who currently sit two points ahead of Barcelona with 24 points.

When pressed about Yamal’s remarks, Alonso brushed the matter aside. “It’s an important match … important enough,” he said. “It has many ingredients for us to play well, for us to enjoy it. That’s what excites us most — the biggest incentive for tomorrow.”

Asked again, he doubled down on his refusal to engage. “No, I’m not going to get into that. There have been a lot of statements from people in Barcelona and I can’t comment on them all. For us, the important thing is the pitch — what happens on the pitch, where we’ve come from, and what lies ahead. That’s what concerns me and what we’ve been working on.”

Visibly irritated when the subject was raised a third time, Alonso concluded firmly: “Are we going back to that? What I have in my head is that it’s going to be an intense, competitive match. We have to be ready because there will be moments for everything. The players must have the right adrenaline. I’m not thinking about other consequences.”

How will Real Madrid line up?

The hosts are also lining up in a 4-2-3-1 setup, with the league’s top scorer Mbappé leading the attack.

Just behind him, Bellingham — fresh from netting the decisive goal in their previous outing — anchors the attacking trio, flanked by the gifted Turkish winger Güler on the right and the ever-dangerous Brazilian Vinícius on the left.

In midfield, the French pairing of Tchouaméni and Camavinga provides balance and physical dominance, ensuring control in both defensive and transitional phases.

At the back, Huijsen returns from injury to partner Militão in central defence, supported by Valverde and Carreras in the full-back roles.

Courtois, Madrid’s trusted #1, takes his place in goal.

How will Barcelona line up?

Like their rivals, Barcelona are set up in a 4-2-3-1 formation.

Up front, Ferran — ever-reliable in front of goal — leads the line as the lone striker. Behind him operates a vibrant trio: Yamal on the right, the energetic Fermin through the middle, and Rashford on the left, fresh off a two-goal performance in the previous match.

In midfield, De Jong makes his return from illness to partner Pedri in the double pivot, restoring the team’s trademark control and composure in possession.

The back four remains unchanged from the last outing, with Kounde passed fit to start after injury concerns. Between the posts, Szczęsny retains his spot as the starting goalkeeper.
