Scheffler, Straka, Thomas headlines the 2025 FedEx St. Jude Championship field at TPC Southwind in Memphis
FINALLY! The PGA Tour's regular season is officially over.
The top 70 players in the FedExCup standings after the Wyndham Championship qualified for the PGA Tour’s first playoff event, the FedEx St. Jude Championship.
The top 50 after four rounds at TPC Southwind in Memphis, Tennessee, will make it to the BMW Championship at Caves Valley Golf Club in Maryland. The top 30, thereafter, will be eligible for the Tour Championship at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta.
The FedEx St. Jude Championship field is headlined by the likes of Scottie Scheffler, Xander Schauffele, Keegan Bradley and more.
This is set to be a 70-player field is played out over four days, with this event marking the 37th tournament of the 2025 PGA Tour season and the first event of the FedEx Cup playoffs. However, Rory McIlroy is not competing in the tournament, making it a 69-player field.
The tournament is being played in its originally intended slot, kicking off the three-event playoff slate -- now reserved for the top 70 players in the standings instead of the top 125.

Qualifying for the FedEx St. Jude Championship in Memphis carries its own eligibility implications:
it secures exemptions into all Full-Field Events and a spot in THE PLAYERS Championship in 2026.
Those who finish Nos. 51–70 also carry their accumulated points into the FedExCup Fall, which can help them qualify for early 2026 Signature Events through the Aon Next 10.
How does the FedEx Cup Playoffs work?
According to the PGA Tour:
The top 70 in the FedExCup standings at the conclusion of the Wyndham Championship will earn their way into the first event of the FedExCup Playoffs, the FedEx St. Jude Championship.
From there, the top 50 in the standings will compete at the BMW Championship, and then just the top 30 will tee it up at the Tour Championship, where all players will start the tournament at even par.
The best performer over the course of four rounds at the Tour Championship will win the FedExCup.
