Brisbane Complete Historic Three-Peat In AFL Grand Final 2026 Comeback Win

Brisbane Lions Complete Historic Three-Peat With Stunning AFL Grand Final Comeback

The Brisbane Lions completed a historic three-peat on Saturday, producing a remarkable late comeback to defeat Fremantle in the 2026 AFL Grand Final at the MCG.

The Lions overturned a 17-point deficit in the final quarter to win 14.12 (96) to 12.17 (89) in front of 100,023 fans, securing their third consecutive premiership.

Brisbane Lions Win Third Straight AFL Premiership

Brisbane are AFL premiers once again after one of the most dramatic Grand Final finishes in recent history.

The seven-point victory delivered the Lions their second three-peat, matching the club's famous run of three consecutive premierships from 2001 to 2003.

It also took Brisbane's total number of AFL premierships to six.

Lions Complete Incredible Grand Final Comeback

Fremantle appeared to be on course for their first premiership after building a 17-point lead with less than five minutes remaining in the final quarter.

The Dockers even celebrated after Patrick Voss kicked his third goal, believing their long-awaited breakthrough was finally within reach.

But Brisbane refused to surrender.

The Lions kicked the last four goals of the match, with goals from Charlie Cameron, Zac Bailey and Logan Morris turning the game around in extraordinary fashion.

Logan Morris Delivers Brisbane's Decisive Moments

Logan Morris had been relatively quiet for much of the Grand Final before producing the moments that decided the premiership.

His contested mark and composed set shot put Brisbane in front before another snap in the dying seconds sealed the victory.

The performance made Morris a three-time premiership player in just his third season.

His goal song, On A Night Like This, also provided a memorable soundtrack to Brisbane's extraordinary comeback after Kylie Minogue's pre-game performance.

Shai Bolton Wins Norm Smith Medal

Despite Fremantle's defeat, Shai Bolton was awarded the Norm Smith Medal as the best player on the ground.

Bolton became the first player from a losing Grand Final team to win the medal since Chris Judd in 2005 and only the fifth player overall to receive the honour despite being on the losing side.

Brisbane Lions Cement Their AFL Dynasty

Fremantle's hopes of ending their premiership drought were shattered in the final minutes, while Brisbane added another unforgettable chapter to their history.

The Lions' ability to produce four goals in the closing stages turned a seemingly lost Grand Final into another premiership triumph.

The Unstoppables have done it again. Brisbane are AFL premiers for the third consecutive year.
