Jackson State basketball is the No. 6 seed in the SWAC Tournament, which begins Wednesday in Birmingham, Alabama.
Grambling State is the defending champion. But with a 7-11 record in the league this season, it ranks as the eighth seed and will have to travel a tough road back to that perch.
The games throughout next week lead up to the March 15 championship game, televised by ESPNU.
