2026 Daytona 500 Entry List: Field, Which Drivers Struggling for final spots

2026 Daytona 500 starting lineup, drivers grid set Who's in, who's battling for final spots in Daytona Duels.

— We know most of the NASCAR drivers who will appear in the 2026 Daytona 500 lineup.

Thirty-six are guaranteed spots on the 41-car starting grid due to their teams possessing charters. A 37th (Jimmie Johnson) also holds a non-negotiable spot by way of the Open Exemption Provisional, which reserves a place for a part-time, "world-class driver." IndyCar legend Helio Castroneves was the first to use it last season.

But there are still eight "open" entries — non-chartered operations — vying for four spots. They are: Chandler Smith, Justin Allgaier, J.J. Yeley, Anthony Alfredo, Casey Mears, Corey Heim, B.J. McLeod and Corey LaJoie.

Wednesday's qualifying and Thursday's 150-mile Duel races will determine which of those guys sneak in.

NASCAR Cup Series drivers put on a show in two decidedly different races in Thursday night's Duel at Daytona, with Bubba Wallace and Austin Cindric taking the trophies when the night ended.

The Duel, which divides drivers among two 60-lap, 150-mile races, determined the full starting lineup for the 67th annual Daytona 500.
