The American Express 2025 Money: Purse, Full Prize Money Breakdown and Winner’s Payout

After the Sony Open, the PGA Tour now sets off to California for The American Express.

The American Express is the next stop on the PGA Tour for the 2025 season. The event will be played January 16-19 at its usual venue, La Quinta Country Club in California.

The three-course rotation over the first three rounds included stops at the Pete Dye Stadium Course, La Quinta Country Club and the Nicklaus Tournament Course. The top 65 and ties after 54 holes played the final round on the Stadium Course, where it was Sepp Straka needed only a Sunday 70 to cap off a two-shot victory, good for his third PGA Tour win. Straka took home $1.584 million for his victory in Palm Springs from the overall $8.8 million purse. Justin Thomas was second and took home $959,200 and goes over $60 million in career earnings.

Justin Lower and Jason Day tied for third place. Patrick Cantlay and Charley Hoffman tied for fifth place.

The payout is the same amount that was available for last year’s Honda Classic, RSM Open, and others. Added to this, the purse had an increase of $400,000 from last year. This purse is also $2.5 million higher than it was five years ago.
