Which teams have been eliminated from knockout contention at 2023 Women's World Cup.?




As the 2023 women’s World Cup moves along in the group stage with teams playing their second matches, the knockout bracket is going to start taking shape.



The flip side of that means some teams will be eliminated from contention prior to playing their third match of the group stage.

Who has been eliminated from the Women's World Cup knockout round?




1. Costa Rica (Group C)

Costa Rica lost 2-0 to Japan to become the first team officially eliminated from the 2023 Women’s World Cup. They previously lost 3-0 to Spain to open the group stage.



2. Zambia (Group C)

Zambia lost 5-0 to Spain in the second game of the group stage and are eliminated. They previously lost 5-0 to Japan.



3. Vietnam (Group E)

After dropping the first two games in the group stage, Vietnam are officially done for this tournament.



4. Ireland (Group B)

Canada beat Ireland 2-1 officially eliminate them from the tournament in the group stage.



5. Panama (Group F)

A 1-0 loss to Jamaica has send the Central American side out of the tournament. Brazil’s 4-0 win over Panama in the opener showed.



6. South Korea (Group G)

A surprising 1-0 loss Morocco has sent the Asian side out of the competition.



7. Philippines (Group A)

Philippines got a big win against New Zealand but folded against Norway in the final group stage match. They were massive longshots to advance out of the group entering the competition.



8. New Zealand (Group A)

New Zealand became the first host (co-host) nation to fail to make the round of 16, ending their World Cup with a scoreless draw against Switzerland..



9. Canada (Group B)

The highest ranked team FIFA rankings, Canada win or draw in the final match to have a shot at the knockout round, but fell flat in a 4-0 loss to Australia.



10. Portugal (Group E)

The Portuguese had an opportunity but but couldn’t get the job done. The 0-0 draw in the final game.



11. China (Group D)

China kept Denmark close in a 1-0 loss to start things off, and beat Haiti 1-0, but were no match for the England team in their final match of group play. They fell 6-1 to the Lionesses, scoring their single goal on a penalty kick.



12. Haiti (Group D)

Haiti lost all three group stage matches, falling to 1-0 loss to England, beat by China 1-0, and most recent loss by Denmark 2-0. They did not score a goal in any of the three matches,  — .



13. Argentina (Group G)

Argentina needed a win no matter what happened for advancing BuT South American side fell to Sweden 2-0 and will be going home before the opener loss to Italy 1-0 & later Draw against South Africa.



14. Italy (Group G)

Italians had a spot in the knockout for a Winning, Italy gave up a stoppage time couldn’t pull it back, leading in a loss against South Africa 3-2, have a little hope after win over Argentina and eliminated from the competition with 5-0 loss to Sweden.



15. Brazil (Group F)

After a dominant showing in the group stage opener, Brazil failed to make an impact in the second and third matches. Marta’s last World Cup ends in disappointment as Jamaica stymie Brazil’s attack and hold the team to a scoreless draw, sending As Canarinhas home early.



16. Germany (Group H)

For the first time in their history, the Germans are out of the World Cup after three group stage matches. Germany failed to get the winning goal, and did not get help from Colombia in the other group stage match. The No. 2 ranked team in the FIFA rankings is officially done.
