Although Youngstown State has never entered the Big Dance, this season that could change. The Penguins are without a doubt the conference's top-rated team.

While seeds 8 through 11 play in the first round, the top five seeded teams receive byes to the second round. The first round's victorious teams will be reseeded so that the lowest remaining seeds face the second round's highest seeds.

Only the winner of the conference tournament will represent the Horizon League in the NCAA Tournament. The Penguins will still participate in the NIT Rankings even if the top seed and defending regular-season champions Youngstown State loses the competition.

When is the 2026 Horizon League Basketball Tournament.?

The Horizon League Tournament will be held from Tuesday, March 2 to Tuesday, March 10 at team campus sites. The semifinal and championship games will be held at the Corteva Coliseum, Indianapolis.

The 2025 Horizon League Tournament games will air live on ESPN+, ESPNU and ESPN 2. The first two rounds will be on ESPN+, while one semifinal game will be on ESPNU and the later semifinal game will be on ESPN2. The Horizon League championship game will air on ESPN2.
