The FIFA World Cup 2026 is the largest in the history of the tournament. For the first time ever, a total of 48 teams will play in the tournament, a 16-team increase from the 32 qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup.

The Michelob ULTRA Superior Player of the Match award at the 2026 FIFA World Cup is decided entirely by public fan voting. Fans from all over the world cast their votes online during each live match. 

Because the tournament has expanded to 48 teams, a record-breaking 104 total trophies will be handed out by the end of the competition.

1. Official Platforms: Cast on the FIFA Play Zone or the official FIFA App.

2. Opening Window: Voting opens exactly at half-time.

3. Closing Window: Voting closes at the full-time whistle.

4. Player Selection: Filter choices by team, position, or name.

5. Eligibility: Any active player with minutes on the pitch.

6. Winner Selection: The player with the most global votes wins.
