Asia Cup: India qualified for Super 4 by defeating Hong Kong

Asia Cup 2022: India defeated Hong Kong qualified for Super Four stage.






  • Asia Cup 2022, IND vs HK: India defeated Hong Kong by 40 runs in the Group A match of the Asia Cup, the 2nd team advance to the Super Four stage.



The Hong Kong squad produced 152 runs for 5 wickets in 20 overs to chase down India's 193-runs target. Babar Hayat excelled, scoring 41 runs.

Nazakat Khan, the captain of Hong Kong, won the toss and asked India to bat first in the game that was played at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.



First India Innings.

Surya Kumar Yadav scored 68 runs off 26 balls, and Virat Kohli scored 59 runs off 44 balls to maintain his unbeaten streak as India scored 192 runs for 2 wickets in the allotted 20 overs.

The innings of Surya Kumar Yadav featured six sixes. Along with this, Rohit Sharma, the captain, and KL Rahul were both out for 21 and 36 runs, respectively.

For Hong Kong, Ayush Shukla and Muhammad Ghazanfar each grabbed one wicket.



2nd Hong Kong Innings


With Yasim Murtaza being out for just 9 runs for just 15 runs, Hong Kong did not have a bright start in India's pursuit of 193 runs.

In addition to Babar Hayat's 41 runs and Konchat Shah's 30 runs, Hong Kong's skipper Nazakat Khan, who returned to the pavilion after scoring 10 runs, caused the team to lose a second time.



With Hong Kong scoring 152 runs for 5 wickets in the allotted 20 overs, India won by 40 runs and advanced to the Super Four stage despite Zeeshan Ali's 26 runs off 17 balls innings.
