The Indonesia Masters started in 2010 and was previously known as the Indonesia Open Grand Prix Gold until it got changed to Indonesia Masters in 2014. The First Indonesia Open Grand Prix Gold 2010 was held in Samarinda, Indonesia and offered total prize money of US$120,000.


Since 2018 it is held at the Istora Gelora Bung Karno in Jakarta and offers prize money of US$350,000.

In 2021, the tournament got upgraded from a Super 500 to a Super 750.

With an assertive 21-17 21-11 win over Denmark’s Anders Antonsen, Kento Momota collected his first HSBC BWF Would Tour title in almost two years in Men's Singles at the DAIHATSU Indonesia Masters 2021.

Momota had lost his last encounter to world No.3 Antonsen at the Indonesia Masters 2019, but the 27-year-old turned the tables this time around.



It was third time lucky for An Seyoung as the Korean collected a huge conquest over Akane Yamaguchi.

Taking the victory in Women's Singles 21-17 21-19, the Korean was elated with her first title since the Gwangju Korea Masters in 2019.
