Russia RGF Group claims fifth Rhythmic Gymnastics All-Around title

Italian RGF Group wins fifth consecutive All-Around title in Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships 2021.

RGF reasserted its supremacy in the realm of Rhythmic Group Gymnastics Friday at the Aeon Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships, coming from behind to claim its fifth consecutive World All-Around title, then adding a second gold in the team competition.

“We had a good performance. We made a small mistake with the Clubs and Hoops, but finally it was a successful competition. We have already started to prepare for the finals, and we have forgotten this All-Around and are moving forward,”

Russian RGF group members Maria Tolkacheva, speaking for team members Anastasiia Bliznyuk, Alisa Tischchenko, Angelina Shkatova, and Polina Orlova...

Their score put them in bronze medal position at the halfway point, forcing a comeback in its second and final exercise with the 3 Hoops/2 Pairs of Clubs.

But as it has so often, the team turned the tables with routine number two, delivering technical excellence and a heaping portion of its trademark elegance for a competition-high 46.250 points, more than a point above any other team for either routine, giving RGF 88.350 overall, 2.35 over Italy.

In a carbon copy of the Group All-Around final, RGF,   --  Italy,  --   and Belarus finished 1-2-3 in the team competition,

Japan,  --   China,  --   and Azerbaijan rounded out the top six.

The title gives Russian Rhythmic Gymnastics -- RGF its fourth gold of the championships, following the three titles won by Dina Averina with the Hoop, Ball, and Clubs. RGF is already thinking ahead.
