Novak Djokovic clinched an historic sixth Wimbledon and 20th Grand Slam titles with victory over Italian Matteo Berrettini in Sunday’s Wimbledon men's final.


The world No.1 prevailed 6-7(4) 6-4 6-4 6-3 to win a men’s-record-equalling 20th major singles title, an achievement that sees him draw level with Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal.



Djokovic sealed victory against Berrettini in just under three-and-a-half hours to earn a sixth career title at the All England Club.

For the first time since Rod Laver in 1969, Novak Djokovic will enter the US Open with to wins the season’s first three major Slam titles of 2021. .

Serbs Star joins Bjorn Borg, Pete Sampras and Roger Federer as the only players in the Open Era to win three Wimbledon titles in a row.

Only Germany's Steffi Graf in 1988 has ever won all four majors and the Olympics in a calendar year.


Djokovic On winning the 2021 Wimbledon title, It's always the biggest dream for me.



"Winning Wimbledon was always the biggest dream for me when I was a kid," said the world number one, Serbian.

"I have to pay tribute to Rafa and Roger. They are legends of our sport and the two greatest players I have faced," said Djokovic, who won his second Grand Slam in 2011 and has now won a total of 19 in the past decade.

"They are the reason [why I am] where I am today. They made me realise what I had to do to get stronger - mentally, physically and tactically.

"The last 10 years have been an incredible journey that is not stopping here."
