The 2020 Betfred World Matchplay is the 27th edition of the World Matchplay, organized by the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC). The tournament will take place at the Winter Gardens, Blackpool, from July 18-26, 2020.

The summer's most popular tournament will see 32 stars competing live on Sky Sports in a bid to win the Phil Taylor Trophy.

Rob Cross won his first World Matchplay title with an 18–13 win over Michael Smith in the final. He also became just the fourth player in history to win both the PDC World Championship and the World Matchplay.

Michael van Gerwen and James Wade are current stars to have also taken the title, alongside Larry Butler, Peter Evison, Rod Harrington and Colin Lloyd.

Tickets for the 2020 Betfred World Matchplay are likely to go on sale in January or February 2020. Information will be confirmed at www.pdc.tv/tickets once finalised.

The World Matchplay darts prize fund was £700,000, with the winner's earnings share being up from £115,000 in 2018 to £150,000.
